Our Center welcomes its honorable and distinguished Fellow - Professor, Dr.Alisher Umirdinov of the Nagoya University (Japan).

Prof.Umirdinov will undertake a research stay at Tashkent State University of Law from 2 February to 22 March, focusing on two core strands: (1) Trade and Sustainable Development in Uzbekistan’s new-generation trade agreements, with particular emphasis on the incorporation and enforceability of sustainability provisions, as well as environmental and labour standards within the country’s evolving treaty practice; and (2) Economic Security and Critical Minerals in Central Asia, through an examination of relevant regulatory frameworks, strategic resource governance, and the interplay between investment protection, supply-chain resilience, and national security concerns.

As part of this academic engagement, he also intends to convene two specialised workshops—one dedicated to each theme—bringing together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers for structured dialogue and policy-oriented analysis.
